Move over Chad Johnson, UCalum and Kansas City Chief receiver TravisKelceenters the dating TV arena in October.

He debuts in "Catching Kelce" Wednesday, Oct. 5 (9 p.m., E!), a reality show in which 50 women -- one from each state in the nation -- pursue the former Bearcats tight end, with assistance from his older brother Jason, a former Bearcats center playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now we know why Kelce, 26, majored in Exploratory Studies at UC?

The show is a similar sports star "Bachelor" format to ChadJohnson's dating show, "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch" which aired onVH1in 2010 whileKelcewas aBearcat. (Like most TV dating reality shows,Ochocincodidn't marry his "Ultimate Catch.")

Here's how E! describes the show:

"Fifty eligible women, including former WAGS (wives and girlfriends of sports stars), sports royalty, social media stars, entrepreneurs, hometown sweethearts and fitness models from across the United States will be invited to Los Angeles as this fun-loving athlete searches for that special someone to become his lifelong teammate.

"To help make some of these tough decisions, Travis has enlisted the help of his "boys" who know him best: his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and his longtime manager Aaron Eanes. See who makes the cut, and who fumbles under pressure, when 'Catching Kelce' kicks off Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. with a 90-minute premiere episode only on E!"

Kelce, 26, a star quarterback at Cleveland Heights High School, set the UC record for receiving yards by a tight end in a season against the University of South Florida on Nov. 23, 2012. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round (63rd pick overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the Chiefs leading receiver in  2014 – with 862 yards off 67 receptions – and signed a five-year contract extension earlier this year worth a reported $46 million.

Kelceexplained his "whole new game plan" in the promo."I need a woman that will fit into all aspects of my life, that can get along with my teammates and their wives."

In the promo for the show, filmed in Los Angeles earlier this year, one heart-broken contestant indicates the bloom is off the rose for the lucky women: "You're honestly telling me one of them is going to have to move to Kansas?"
