Police have arrested the man accused of causing a crash Sunday morning killing an off-duty Cincinnati firefighter. Patric Tucker is charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular homicide. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Tucker's car went left of center striking and killing Firefighter Jordan Pieniazek as he was driving to work on his motorcycle.
Funeral services are set for Friday afternoon. A Go-Fund-Me page and an account at Kemba Credit Union have been set up to help his family.
Earlier this week, Assistant Fire Chief Tom Lakamp remembered Pieniazek as a fine young man and a good firefighter. "He was good for the community. He was good for the city. Jordan was just really nice to everyone, everyone that he came in contact with. On medical runs it didn't matter where you from, who you were. Jordan was an excellent ambassador for the Cincinnati Fire Department and it's a tragedy that we've lost him."
Authorities on Monday said there was no preliminary indication that drugs or alcohol were involved. It was unclear at that time if distracted driving was a factor. No new details about the cause have been released at this writing.
