With Fox's "Second Chance" on the bubble for renewal, Alexandria native Ciara Bravo will star in "To The Bone," an independent movie with Keanu Reeves, Lily Collins and Carrie Preston filming soon.

She also will appear in "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," scheduled to open in theaters May 20, days after Fox reveals its fall TV lineup and cancelations.

In the movie Bravo will play Tracy, "a gritty anorexic in the inpatient treatment center for eating disorders," says publicist Nora Cate Stromberg.  She also played anorexic Emma in Fox's "Red Band Society" in the 2014-15 TV season.

Writer Marti Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice") makes her directorial debut with the dark comedy about a young woman’s struggle with anorexia reportedly inspired by Noxon’s own  experiences.

In "Neighbors 2," Bravo joins Selena Gomez, Chloe Grace Moretz and Lisa Kudrow in the sequel with Seth Rogen, Rose Bryne, Zac Efron, Dave Franco and Ike Barinholtz from the 2014 original.

Before the "Second Chance" premiere in January, Bravo told me about playing the granddaughter of a corrupt 75-year-old sheriff brought back to life as a younger man (Rob Kazinsky). The series was developed last year as "The Frankenstein Code," and changed to “Frankenstein,” "Lookinglass" and eventually "Second Chance."

Bravo, who turned 19 last month, made her network TV debut in Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush" at age 11 in 2009.  Her credits include "Jinxed," "Swindled," "Big Time Movie," "Supah Ninjas" and voices for "Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas," "The Penguins of Madagascar" and "Happiness Is A Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown."

One of her first TV appearances was in a commercial for the Newport Aquarium's frog bog.
