Traumatic brain injuries are a major cause of death and disability in the United States, contributing to about 30 percent of all injury deaths. Those who survive a brain injury may face short-term effects lasting a few days to disabilities which could last the rest of their lives.

Joining us to discuss traumatic brain injuries are University of Cincinnati Division of Neurotrauma Director and Department of Neurosurgery Associate Professor Dr. Norberto Andaluz; and UC Department of Neurosurgery Research Associate Professor Dr. Jed Hartings.
