For more than a week, much of Ohio has been hit with multiple rounds of rain and storms. Severe weather, tornadoes and flooding slammed parts of central Ohio.

Mayor Andrew Ginther declared an emergency Wednesday after severe storms damaged several Columbus neighborhoods Tuesday.

Government agencies are warning Ohioans to be cautious of “very dangerous” summer storms battering much of the state.

Among the major damage reported in the area, a tree crushed a camper off East Morrill Avenue on Columbus' south side.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington says 74 tornadoes touched down in Ohio between January and the end of September, which caused almost $22 million in property damage around the state.

The Columbus forecast is calling for a chance of rain every day until the weekend. It's the most sustained rain the region has seen in weeks as the drought has persisted.
