After Jason Meade’s reckless homicide conviction and a mistrial on murder charges, Franklin County prosecutors are weighing a retrial. Meade remains in custody as officials evaluate next steps.

After deliberating for two days, the jury found Meade guilty reckless homicide for killing Casey Goodson Jr. in 2020. The judge declared a mistrial on a murder charge.

The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon in the second murder trial for former Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Meade. Meade is accused of killing 23-year-old Casey Goodson Jr. in 2020.

Favor will be part of a team of three county prosecutors trying the case against suspect Michael McKee in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. McKee allegedly killed his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Spencer Tepe in their Weinland Park home in December.

Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge David Young pushed back the trial again, scheduling a status conference for Feb. 9. Meade's first trial ended after Young declared a mistrial when jurors couldn't come to an unanimous decision.

Blendon Twp. Police Officer was charged with murder, felonious assault and involuntary manslaughter. The jury weighed whether he was justified for killing Ta’Kiya Young after she shoplifted from a local Kroger and attempted to drive away.

A jury is now deliberating in the murder trial of Blendon Township Police Officer Connor Grubb, who fatally shot 21-year-old Ta'Kiya Young in 2023.

Blendon Township Police Officer Connor Grubb's defense team called former Akron Police Officer and use of force expert Kevin Davis to testify. Special prosecutors called their own use of force expert, Seth Stoughton, a University of South Carolina policing and public safety professor to testify at the trial.

Judge David Young, who is not related to Ta'Kiya Young, decided to dismiss four charges related to the death of Young's unborn child. Connor Grubb is still charged in Ta'Kiya Young's death.

Defense lawyers for Blendon Township Police Officer Connor Grubb and special prosecutors gave their opening statements Wednesday. Grubb is charged with murder after he shot and killed a pregnant woman in August 2023.
