April Sunami

April Sunami is a mixed-media artist and painter whose work focuses on the female form, specifically bold depictions of black women.

Her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums including the Columbus Museum of Art and the National African America Museum.

She's also created large murals on buildings across Columbus and elsewhere.

April and Hanif talk about how different regions of the world have their own palette, watching the 1977 miniseries "Roots" and the joy of cleaning.
