School leaders in central Ohio could feel pretty good about the marks they received on the state’s annual report card of achievement.
In Franklin County, the average star rating was above 3.5. Some districts, like Upper Arlington and New Albany, boasted 5 stars.
The state’s largest district, Columbus City Schools, beset with challenges from literacy rates to chronic absenteeism, also celebrated a half-star increase.
Today, we’re digging through the data, for a truer picture of how Ohio’s schools are doing. Because not every district had reasons to celebrate. And even those that did, had room for improvement.
