If you talk to a teacher, most of them will say they don’t go into the profession for fame and fortune. They become teachers because they are called to it.
But from time to time, a teacher is recognized for his or her work and sometimes, on very rare occasions, that recognition is pretty big. We will meet the 2026 Ohio Teacher of the Year who hails from Tiffin.
Matt Kalina, of Lakewood, saw all the challenges his brother faced following a train accident and came up with an app that’s helping other trauma survivors.
Kat Brown took her desire to eat healthy and delicious meals to the next level. She started her own meal kit delivery business and now she provides thousands of meals to busy professionals all over Columbus.
