In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the American with Disabilities Act into law.
It marked the world’s first comprehensive civil rights law for people with disabilities.
The law required equal opportunity in hiring, access to public places like restaurants and hotels, and promised an end to discrimination.
Fast forward three decades, and the Trump administration has made or proposed cuts to everything from special education to mental health care, in line with efforts to shrink the federal government and save money.
Today, we’re getting a status report from Disability Rights Ohio and Columbus’ ADA coordinator.
