Cedar Point in Sandusky and Kings Island in Mason both have internationally-recognized roller coasters, including the tallest operating coaster, Top Thrill 2. Both parks are a point of pride for Ohioans.
A year ago, Cedar Fair, the owner of the two parks, and many other amusement parks across North America, was merged with Six Flags as the parent company.
Six Flags has recently announced a 10% layoff, a move that will affect 500 positions across 42 parks. What will this mean for Ohio's parks?
We’ll hear from experts in the amusement and leisure industry, as well as former Kings Island managers, and the CEO of the company that oversaw the Cedar Fair-Six Flags merger.
Guests:
- Susan Glaser, travel writer for Cleveland.com
- Dennis Speigel, Mr. Theme Park, Founder & CEO, International Theme Park Services Inc.
- Don Helbig, former Kings Island PR manager, theme park journalist & influencer
