Ohio senators want to cut taxes for wealthy Ohioans by flattening the state income tax. They also are considering cutting billions in property taxes.
But any cuts come with costs.
Hundreds of amendments introduced last week would affect everything from public school funding to state parks to Medicaid.
Republican lawmakers also hatched a new plan to pay for the Browns stadium, using unclaimed funds and setting off a scramble by Ohioans looking to get that money back.
Meanwhile, the top Democrat in the Ohio House, Allison Russo, is stepping down from her leadership position, fueling speculation she’ll run for statewide office. Governor, perhaps?
