Women have historically been underrepresented in healthcare research.
A significant amount of past research has focused on men, despite the biological and hormonal differences.
It wasn't until 1993 that women were required to be included in clinical trials. Before then, drugs were mainly tested on men only.
President Trump plans to block funding to research that includes the word ‘women.’
Meanwhile, many female-focused researchers and institutions are still doing great work to get up to speed with women's health.
