Then-Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton holds up a mask as she gives an update about the state's response to coronavirus as Gov. Mike DeWine looks on, on Feb. 27, 2020 in Cleveland.

The 2026 gubernatorial race got a little more interesting when Dr. Amy Acton last week floated a possible run. Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and Attorney General Dave Yost are expected to face off on the Republican side.

In the presidential race, Democrats seek to build on the enthusiasm from their convention by mobilizing on-the-ground efforts in every state. Former President Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance crisscross the Midwest in an ever-tighter race for votes.

And Republican Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose flags possible election violations.
