A Belgian non-profit is training rats to help find survivors of earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters.

The African giant-pouched rats will wear miniaturized high-tech backpacks to help them track and communicate with humans. Some rats are deployed already to locate landmines and detect tuberculosis.
