Patrons in Ohio can hoist a pint at more than 400 craft breweries around the state.

If that sounds like a lot, it is. The number of breweries has multiplied eight-fold in the last decade.

This growth builds on Columbus’ rich beer-making history and an industry that began in 1836 when German immigrant Louis Hoster opened City Brewery.

More would follow, giving rise to The Brewery District.

We’re talking today about craft brewing and how the industry is faring.
