We all know the milestones we’re "supposed" to hit once we become adults: go to college, get a good job, buy a house, purchase a car and save for retirement.

Those are the rules, or at least they were.

Milestones, like homeownership in particular, feel unattainable for many younger Americans and even undesirable for some.

Maybe what we need are some new rules for money management.

That’s where journalists Bourree Lam and Julia Carpenter come in. The pair have written a new book offering financial advice.
