Columbus planning $100 million pedestrian and bike loop in downtown area

A rendering shows pedestrians and bicycles enjoying a section of the proposed two-mile Capital Line trail that would loop through downtown Columbus. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther estimated the cost of the project at around $100 million.

The city of Columbus is working to re-imagine the downtown district’s streetscape to swap streets for more walking and bike paths with a project called The Capital Line.

The endeavor would involve taking over street space, including some parking spaces.

The Capital Line would be a two-mile path lined with greenery, art and furniture. It has a price tag of $100 million.
