The U.S. Supreme Court last week heard oral arguments in a case that has far-reaching implications for how the federal government regulates everything from healthcare to water quality.

The case started off simply enough: a group of herring fishermen in New Jersey sued over the right to earn a living.

It has morphed into something much more.

A Columbus law firm has filed an amicus brief in the case.
