More than 850 residents, many of them Haitians, living in Colonial Village in Columbus are being forced to vacate the premises by Dec. 31.
They’ve been living in substandard conditions and a number of agencies are looking to resettle them, but the task isn’t easy.
A network of human traffickers brought them here from Florida and duped them into paying rent for units that lacked heat, hot water and in some cases were condemned.
