Access to healthcare can be difficult for marginalized communities.

Despite the annual Columbus Pride festival and increased acceptance of LGBTQ people, health disparities, stigma and a lack of necessary care persist.

LGBTQ health involves sexual health such as treating and preventing HIV, as well as gender-affirming care such as hormone replacement therapy for trans and nonbinary people.

An unprecedented wave of anti-trans legislation across the country is threatening access to gender-affirming care and has been tied to worsening mental health outcomes for the LGBTQ community

We’ll look at how LGBTQ health care access has changed over time, and what can be done to curb disparities.
