The drumbeat of deaths and injuries at schools and almost everywhere people gather.

The youngest among us carry the deepest scars.

Gun violence is now the leading cause of death for kids and teens in the U.S., overtaking car accidents.

Millions of children must walk through metal detectors or take part in active shooter drills that have them imagine and then respond to a gun-wielding intruder in their school.

It all takes a heavy toll.

Today we are talking about children and the trauma of gun violence.
