Columbus City Council considering proposal to eliminate $200 million of medical debt

Roughly 100 million adults in the U.S. are burdened with medical-related debt totaling some $200 billion.

The Columbus City Council is considering a proposal to eliminate $200 million of medical debt held by Columbus residents. The movement to end personal medical debt has grown in recent years, and Columbus is the latest major city to explore options for doing so.
