Medical tourism and traveling abroad for health procedures have been in the news recently. This was a result of the abduction of four Americans in Mexico on a medical tourism trip.

Josef Woodman, the CEO of Patients Beyond Borders, a resource for international health travel shares what you should know before leaving U.S. borders to receive health care.

The health care landscape juggled many challenges this winter from a surge in respiratory illnesses to widespread drug shortages to treat them.

Then there was the flu, which returned to pre-pandemic highs and, of course, COVID.

And now, a fungal infection known as Candida auris is spreading across the U.S.
