Tech Tuesday: ID verification and security in the social media space

Last week, Twitter rolled out Twitter Blue allowing users to pay $8 a month to get a blue verification check mark.

Previously, that badge was only available to users after the company had verified their identity. The change caused chaos and was put on pause the next day.

Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher, we are taking a look at what happened and where Twitter goes from here.

To discuss the issue of securing one's identity in the social media space, we welcome
Geoffrey A. Fowler, technology columnist for the Washington Post, Christopher Mims, technology columnist for the Wall Street Journal and Russell Holly, managing editor for Commerce at CNET.

Guests:

  • Geoffrey A. Fowler, technology columnist for the Washington Post
  • Christopher Mims, technology Columnist for the Wall Street Journal
  • Russell Holly, managing editor for commerce at CNET
