The CDC’s guidelines for prescribing opioids are once again changing. Doctors' hesitancy to prescribe has led to the undertreatment of pain, but not many are hopeful that loosened guidelines will address this problem.

Today on Wellness Wednesday, we’re talking about the balancing act of pain management. Later in the hour, we’ll review the CDC’s study on alcohol deaths and discusses how to navigate Medicare enrollment.

Guests:

  • Leo Beletsky, Professor of Law and Health Sciences, Northeastern University
  • Prakash Nagarkatti, Vice President for Research and Carolina Distinguished Professor, University of South Carolina
  • David Meyers, Assistant Professor of Health Services, Brown University
