Green Bay radio and TV personality John Maino performs the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for research in 2014.

A new medication has been approved by the FDA to treat ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. While there’s excitement for the new medicine, it also signals just how slowly treatment of the disease is moving.

We’ll discuss what advancements in ALS research have taken place and what hopes there are for the future.

We’ll also discuss the current rise in syphilis cases and why end-of-life doulas are becoming popular.

Guests:

  • Jacki Mann, end-of-life doula and hospice nurse
  • Dr. Stephen Kolb, Neurologist, Wexner ALS Clinic
  • Dr. Carlos Malvestutto, Infectious Disease Expert at OSU Wexner
