Changing landscape of rural America and small towns

Idyllic rural America is a land of farms, pick-up trucks and county fairs far from metropolitan areas.

However, rural America is more complicated. The communities can range from manufacturing and agricultural enclaves to booming small towns. A recent study done in Ohio identifies five different types of rural communities.
