Four in-person witnesses will testify today before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol as the panel pursues its case against former president Donald Trump for his role in the riot.

Republican supporters of the former president have called the exercise one of political posturing. Even many opponents of Trump wonder what the ultimate outcome could be.
