Throughout history and times of civil unrest, the temper of the times has sometimes been reflected in the art that is produced.
Whether it’s songs of protest, drama or literature addressing the prevailing social issues artists sometimes spring to the forefront of the movement.
Black Lives Matter, the death of George Floyd as well as hashtag #MeToo and Times Up are some of the social movements that have inspired legislation as well as art.
We’ll look at the past and present use of art to effect social change here in Columbus and around the country.
