The Alfred Kelley Mansion was built in the 1838 on East Broad Street in Columbus before it was demolished in 1961.

Landmark buildings can define a neighborhood or a city, but in Columbus only one in four buildings pre-date 1945. That’s lower than a 50-city average that’s closer to 40 percent.

Preservation efforts over the years have saved the Union Station arch, Memorial Hall and other structures, but many others have been lost.

Today on “All Sides with Ann Fisher:” The authors of a new book on Columbus’ forgotten landmarks tell the stories of the city’s most famous buildings.
