The open enrollment period on all Affordable Care Act marketplaces, including on the federal insurance exchange, HealthCare.gov, runs until Jan. 15.

The open enrollment period began last week for two programs that serve millions of Americans - Medicare and the Affordable Care Act.

It turns out many consumers are unfamiliar, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their choices. And that can lead to higher out-of-pocket costs, fewer choices when it comes to health care or both.

Today on Wellness Wednesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher, how to comparison-shop for when it comes to health plans.

Guests:

  • Dr. Sara Bode, primary care pediatrician, Nationwide Children’s Hospital
  • Jack Hoadley, health care expert and professor emeritus at Georgetown University
  • Christopher Lundstrom, director of sport and exercise science, University of Minnesota School of Kinesiology
