The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed course Tuesday, advising that fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors if they live in areas with a significant or high spread of COVID-19.

The new CDC guidance comes as the highly transmissible delta variant is spreading rapidly across the country, driving an increase in breakthrough infections among fully vaccinated people.

Today on Wellness Wednesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher we explore the reason behind the CDC’s reversal, breakout infections. We'll also take a look at how screentime can make you feel sick, including the ways to manage cybersickness, as well as the link between alcohol and over 740,000 cancer cases last year.

Guests:

  • Dr. Monica Gandhi, infectious disease physician, University of California, San Francisco
  • Angelica Jasper, PhD Candidate in Human Computer Interaction, Iowa State University
  • Dr. Amy Justice, professor of medicine and public health at Yale University
