While COVID-19 continues to surge unchecked across the country, influenza cases this season have remained low - so far.

A handful of people in the United States, the U.K. and China have become sick with the coronavirus and the flu at the same time. Early evidence suggests such co-infections increase the risk for severe and protracted illness.

Today on Wellness Wednesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher: why it is possible to have COVID-19 and the flu simultaneously.

Guests:

  • Dean Winslow, infectious disease specialist, Stanford Health Care
  • Caroline Fleck, psychologist
  • Liz Weinandy, registered dietitian, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
