A record 54 billion spam calls flooded consumers’ smart phones in 2019.

With bipartisan support, Congress passed its first major anti-robocall legislation in decades. The legislation offers more protections for consumers and more powers for law enforcement. Still, some experts worry the law does not go far enough.
