Columbus Ticket Taxes Take Effect

The new ticket tax in Columbus went into effect this week. 

The 5% tax will apply to some sporting events and arts venues, and is expected to raise some $6 million a year for the Greater Columbus Arts Council to funds arts in the city. 

But the tax is not without its challengers. A petition is circulating to remove the tax via ballot issue and would also prevent any similar tax in the future.
