American English Versus British English

It is said that Americans have butchered the English language since they declared their independence from England. According to author Lynne Murphy, this is strange considering many American phrases come from British English. She recently came out with an entire book documenting the irregularities of both languages.

Today, we consider the differences between the two languages and where they originate.
