George H.W. Bush was born to wealth, privilege and connections with the East Coast elite with whom he schooled and socialized. He could have chosen a comfortable berth on that train but instead, he struck out for Texas with his bride and traveled a different, perhaps bumpier, but altogether more interesting route to the highest office in the nation.
