The Heroin Epidemic

Since the year 2002, more than 10,000 Ohioans have died from a fatal drug overdose. Heroin abuse often begins with prescription drug abuse.

Within three years fatal heroin overdoses in the United States have tripled. In 2013, approximately 1,000 Ohioans lost their lives due to a form of heroin known as black tar. Coming up, a look at the new faces behind the epidemic and what Ohio is doing to slow the spread of addiction.
