Bernie Sanders

Third parties in American politics have been around since the early 1800's. While they seldom have an influence in an election, they even more rarely are able to win one. The self described "Democratic Socialist" Bernie Sanders, who is an Independent in the US Senate, has placed a bid for president as a Democrat. Coming up, we look into the history of third parties and why some choose to work within the two party system.
