  • Michael D. Johnson will begin his tenure as John Carroll University’s 25th president on July 1, 2018. Johnson, who currently serves as Provost of Babson College in Massachusetts, was elected to head the Cleveland-area university by its Board of Directors Dec. 6. His contract will extend through 2023. At Babson, Johnson oversees all academic affairs and serves as a Professor of Marketing. He will continue that teaching role at John Carroll, joining the Boler School of Business as a professor in its department of Management, Marketing and Supply Chain.
  • Cleveland saw a sharp increase in rental prices in recent months. That's according to a recent survey by the apartment listing site Abodo.com, which looked at one-bedroom rentals in about 80 cities. The site found that Cleveland topped the list with the highest percentage increase in median rent last month at 6.5 percent. That marks the third consecutive month in which Cleveland led the pack.
