Cleveland Cinemas, which operates Tower City Cinemas and others in the region, announced the Tower City Cinemas closure in a news release Monday afternoon. “While Tower City Cinemas has been closed since March due to the on-going health crisis, with the lease expiring, a decision was made to not reopen the theater,” said Jon Forman, president of Cleveland Cinemas, in a written statement.

Last year, 100 young offenders were charged as adults, four times the rate in Franklin County. Organizations like the ACLU say the high number of bindovers are because prosecutors aren’t exercising discretion when filing charges.

Amid the country’s worsening measles outbreak, Ohio is reporting the state’s first case of this year. A young unvaccinated adult in Stark County contracted the virus and has since recovered, but not before coming into contact with some people who are believed to be unvaccinated, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s Jose Rodriguez. Officials are monitoring those who may have been in contact with this individual and they are in self-quarantine, Rodriguez says.

Cuyahoga County Public Library has seen a spike in people utilizing its digital materials, according to collections manager Wendy Bartlett. “People are definitely turning to our digital resources, which we are thrilled about,” Bartlett said. “That’s what they are there for.”
