Rally For Goodyear Extends Battle With President Trump
Elected officials from Summit County, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Youngstown) and union representatives held a rally in support of Goodyear in front of United Steelworkers Local 2 headquarters in Akron. Steelworkers Sub-District Director Bill Conner took aim at President Donald Trump after his Wednesday tweet called for a boycott of Goodyear tires. "An American company, [a boycott] on American workers, both blue collar and white," Connor said. "He did this based on information he received without checking its accuracy."

Cleveland Arts Prize Readies 60th Birthday Celebration
A pioneering municipal arts award is getting ready to celebrate its 60th birthday. Members of the Women’s City Club of Cleveland created the Cleveland Arts Prize (CAP) in 1960 to honor artistic achievement across the region. Winners have included legendary national figures like writer Toni Morrison, optical artist Julian Stanczak, and designer Viktor Schreckengost, along with dozens of up-and-coming painters, poets, musicians and dancers.
Missing Akron Teen Linda Pagano Identified 40 Years Later
After four decades, the remains of a missing Akron teen have been identified. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Thursday they have matched the DNA of living relatives to the body of Linda Pagano. Pagano disappeared in September 1974 after an argument with her stepfather about returning home late from a concert. She reportedly left his Akron home to stay with a friend, but was never heard from again.
Ohio Secretary Of State Candidates Dig Into Lesser Known Voting Issues
At a panel on voting issues in Beachwood Wednesday night, the two major party candidates for secretary of state discussed several election issues that are rarely debated. State Rep. Kathleen Clyde, D-Kent, and State Sen. Frank LaRose, R-Hudson, agreed without hesitation that there needs to be a higher threshold for getting constitutional amendments on the ballot.
Bird Scooters Press Pause For Permit Talks With Cleveland
Bird is removing its electric scooters from Cleveland today. The company says in a written statement it is “voluntarily pausing our operations” while it works with the city to come to an agreement for ongoing operations of their dockless e-scooters. “We have had productive conversations with Councilman Kerry McCormack and community members, and are hopeful that we will be able to collaborate with the City on their permitting process,” according to a Bird spokesperson.

Cleveland Foundation Plans Move, Midtown Revitalization
The Cleveland Foundation plans to leave Playhouse Square and build a new headquarters at the corner of East 66th Street and Euclid Avenue in the city's Midtown neighborhood. The foundation’s board of trustees voted unanimously this week to move from the historic downtown Hanna Building to a new building to be built on land the foundation has agreed to buy from the Dunham Tavern Museum.The foundation has been a tenant in Playhouse Square; in Midtown it will own its new home.
