  • Sherwin-Williams President and Chief Operating Officer David Sewell announced his resignation Monday, effective March 12. Sherwin-Williams will not immediately move to fill his role, the release said. Instead, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Morikis will assume the duties and responsibilities associated with the position. "Our deep and experienced global team continues to move forward with great momentum, focused on delivering solutions to our customers and executing on initiatives that will drive sustained long-term success,” Morikis said in the release.
  • Cuyahoga County Council unanimously approved Christopher Viland as the new county sheriff Tuesday. Viland’s most recent job was as Cleveland’s first police inspector general, from 2019 until late last year. Before that, he was chief of police in Solon from 2011 to 2019. He holds a law degree from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
  • Legendary Cavaliers broadcaster Joe Tait, whose wry wit and signature calls defined Cleveland basketball for a generation, died Wednesday at age 83. He fought a lengthy battle with kidney disease and liver cancer and had recently gone into hospice care. Information on memorial services is not yet available.
