In early March, ideastream's Chief Marketing Officer Todd Mesek lost his brother Tim suddenly to a heart attack. As the family made arrangements to remember their lost loved one, the coronavirus changed their plans to grieve with family and friends. The Mesek family is now searching for ways to mourn and remember Tim from their homes.

Business Owners In Cleveland Question Curfew Restrictions
Business owners in Downtown Cleveland and Ohio City are raising concerns about whether a lengthy lockdown in the aftermath of Saturday’s protest against the death of George Floyd is necessary. Just off of West 25th Street in Ohio City, Michael Kaplan had the doors of the Glass Bubble Project, his glass studio and shop, open on Monday morning while all the other businesses on this usually busy commercial strip were closed. “I’m an artist, so where else would I go?” Kaplan said.

Lakefront Erosion Causes Concern In Euclid
Lisa Kenion lives in Euclid, right off of Lake Erie. She’s a member of the Moss Point Beach Club, a neighborhood with a private little patch of lakefront property. “Every Friday night, if the weather is good in the summer, there’s a group of people that come down and we watch the sunset together,” Kenion said. But a recent storm threatened the beach club’s lakefront oasis. A chunk of land fell off their bluff and right next to the lake. Caution tape wraps around a bench and a fence along the lakefront.

Toxic Stress And Trauma Of Gun Violence Takes A Toll On Cleveland's Health
Shootings are up by 20 perecent because of the rash of shootings in Cleveland over the past week when compared to a year ago, according to the Partnership for a Safer Cleveland. So far this year, Cleveland police say there have been 64 homicides. A majority of the shooting deaths in the city have taken place in the predominantly-black neighborhoods on the East Side, the group reported — a stark reminder that people in these communities are often exposed to gun violence at a greater rate than other parts of Cleveland.
