Memories of a childhood spent running away from war. Trying to find stability in a place where you feel like an outsider. Fifty Cleveland high school students are learning to use art to express their feelings about being refugees. A new exhibit, “Adrift, a Dream,” combines some of their creations with the work of older artists who share some harrowing histories.

Ohio Plans First Major Overhaul To Medicaid In 15 Years
Last week, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine proposed changes to the state’s Medicaid program — the first major overhaul in 15 years. The changes, which will have to be approved by the federal government, will help improve health outcomes of Ohioans covered by the program, DeWine said, specifically children and those who need specialized care. Medicaid covers low-income residents, long-term care in nursing homes, pregnant women, and children. It is managed differently by each state.

Youth Share Reflections On Virtual Stage With Near West Theatre
Last fall, 15-year-old Josh Mink had a great time starring as Uncle Fester in the Near West Theatre production of "The Addams Family." "It was so much fun having a whole team help me with the makeup and the fat suit and putting the bald cap on. It was a blast," Mink said.

Cuyahoga County's COVID Spread Is In The Red — What Does That Mean?
Cuyahoga, Lorain, Richland, and Summit Counties are all in the red public health alert category, according to the state of Ohio's coronavirus risk level assessment. That means there is very high exposure and spread in those communities. The red counties are also considered Level 3 out of 4 in the state's assessment chart. But what does that actually mean? And how are these risk levels determined?

Cleveland Theaters Spread Holiday Cheer With New Online Productions
People won’t be stepping inside area theaters to enjoy holiday shows this year, but local theaters still want to connect and spread some cheer with new streaming productions. Cleveland Play House Cleveland Play House breaks from its tradition of presenting “A Christmas Story,” based on the movie with the same name filmed in Cleveland in the ‘80s and focused on the infamous Ralphie. Artistic Director Laura Kepley said it was time for a change this year.
