It's that time of year again when you start to see signs of spring begin to bloom. But it may surprise you that many common plants in Northeast Ohio are not native to the region. Report: Opioid Prescriptions In Ohio Down, Meth Availability Up
A new report out of the Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring (OSAM) Network finds that while opioid prescriptions are falling throughout Ohio, methamphetamine remains widely available in the state. In the Cleveland area, powdered cocaine and meth are becoming more available, and the number of clients entering treatment for meth use increased.

Cleveland Heights native Orin Wolf's 'The Band's Visit' Wins 10 Tonys
Growing up in Cleveland Heights, Orin Wolf acted in theater productions both at University School and Cain Park. Little did his high school friends and teachers know, he'd go on to win multiple Tony awards on Broadway as a producer. "For me as someone who always loved the theater, but didn't really love acting, once it clicked that producing was something I could do it just all made sense," Wolf said.

Cleveland Native Ezri Rises in Hip-Hop, Headlines Brite Winter
Ezri Walker grew up in Cleveland and began rapping at an early age. By 11, his family realized he had talent and encouraged him to take music seriously, like a job. His mom even began arranging him studio time to work on his craft. “She started booking me sessions,” Ezri said. “Knowing they were coming up… pressured me to like make more music, that way I had stuff to record when I went there.” Then Ezri started catching some breaks. As a teenager, he performed at a Drake concert. At that time, he went by Ezzy.

New CEO Of Cleveland Council On World Affairs On Organization's Legacy And Future
The Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) last month got a new CEO, after the sudden death of the organization's previous CEO, Maura O'Donnell-McCarthy, in July. Carina Van Vliet has been in Northeast Ohio about four years having a post with Jones Day, and previously working for the United Nations in New York.

Despite Midterm Buzz, Voter Registration in Northeast Ohio Shows Modest Increase
A new poll released Tuesday by Baldwin Wallace University suggests nearly 59 percent of Ohioans who plan to vote this November say the upcoming midterms are more important than previous ones. There is some evidence of that sentiment in Northeast Ohio voter rolls. Although the final tally won't be known for a week or so, elections officials in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Lake, Geauga and Portage counties report that, as of Tuesday, the last day to register to vote, voter rolls are slightly higher than they were during the 2014 midterm election.
