Cleveland Dance Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing Students Facing Lawsuit
A dance teacher formerly employed by the Cleveland School of the Arts is facing a federal lawsuit alleging he sexually abused several students during his time at the high school. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of five unnamed plaintiffs, argues Terence Greene violated the federal Title IX statute. Greene used his status as a teacher in the School of the Arts to groom students and sexually abuse them, the suit said, and the abuse took place on school property and in connection with school-related activities.

Cleveland Orchestra Announces Plans for Severance Hall Concerts This Fall
The Cleveland Orchestra plans to perform on the Severance Hall stage this fall, but there won’t be an audience in the seats — at least, not at first. Performances will be scaled back in a number of ways, due to pandemic safety precautions, according to orchestra CEO Andre Gremillet. “Our plan at this point is to have the orchestra on stage starting in early October,” he said. “We will have a shorter program, no intermission. And at this point, we anticipate there being about 50 players on stage at any one time.”

Some preliminary guidance on how to restart the City of Cleveland’s stalled recycling program may come before the end of the year, Chief Operating Officer Darnell Brown told city council Monday. Waste consultant GT Environmental is examining every corner of the city’s trash and recycling system, with plans to deliver a draft report by the middle or end of December, Brown said. But a firmer plan of action may not take shape until the second quarter of 2021.

Cleveland Clinic researchers are getting ready to embark on a clinical trial testing a breast cancer vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently greenlighted a breast cancer vaccine technology developed at Cleveland Clinic, which allows clinical trials for the vaccine to move forward. If effective, the vaccine could become a regular part of women’s health care, said Dr. Vincent Tuohy, a cancer researcher at the clinic who invented the vaccine.

Inside the Bricks - Episode 4: It's About Being Ready
Shakira Collier spends a lot of time thinking about health. Up until recently, though, it’s been mostly other people’s health the 24-year-old considers. She works as a home health aide, where her job is to look after those who aren’t able to tend to themselves. But when first I met her earlier this year, shortly before the coronavirus pandemic, she told me things were about to become a lot less one-sided.
