Cleveland Orchestra Announces Plans for Severance Hall Concerts This Fall
The Cleveland Orchestra plans to perform on the Severance Hall stage this fall, but there won’t be an audience in the seats — at least, not at first. Performances will be scaled back in a number of ways, due to pandemic safety precautions, according to orchestra CEO Andre Gremillet. “Our plan at this point is to have the orchestra on stage starting in early October,” he said. “We will have a shorter program, no intermission. And at this point, we anticipate there being about 50 players on stage at any one time.”

Inside the Bricks - Episode 4: It's About Being Ready
Shakira Collier spends a lot of time thinking about health. Up until recently, though, it’s been mostly other people’s health the 24-year-old considers. She works as a home health aide, where her job is to look after those who aren’t able to tend to themselves. But when first I met her earlier this year, shortly before the coronavirus pandemic, she told me things were about to become a lot less one-sided.

Nearing Purple, But No New Health Advisories For Lake, Lorain Counties
Lake and Lorain county officials are relying on residents to stay vigilant as the coronavirus surges – but not issuing any additional health advisories or orders, even after Gov. Mike DeWine on Thursday placed both on the watch list for potentially moving to the highest risk level on the state’s public health advisory alert system.

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority expects a decline in passenger fare revenue next year, but anticipates no other major hits to its 2020 budget. RTA’s $296 million in general fund expenditures will exceed projected revenues for next year, staff told the board of trustees at a Tuesday morning meeting. The transit agency will use leftover funds from 2019 to cover the shortfall, planning to end next year $25 million in the black.
