Grand Jury Won't Indict Police In Death Of Tanisha Anderson

Ohio Senators Want to Avoid Government Shutdown
Both of Ohio’s Senators want to meet a Friday deadline to avoid a partial government shutdown. Members of Congress are working on a short-term funding bill to keep the federal government open, but are still debating the inclusion of some controversial measures that likely won’t make the final resolution-- like fixes for insolvent workers’ pensions and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, or DACA. GOP leaders have, however, added 6 years of funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program to the continuing resolution.

Cleveland Museum of Art Focuses on Bringing Diversity to Museums
The Cleveland Museum of Art opens its doors every day to all visitors free of charge. However, if very few of the people working there look like you, do you really feel welcome? “It’s absolutely essential that when you walk into the door of an art museum, like the Cleveland Museum of Art, you see yourself reflected and you feel welcome. When you don’t see that, you feel like an outsider, it’s very difficult to fully welcome you,” said CMA’s director of education and academic affairs Cyra Levenson.
Competing Congressional Redistricting Plans May Go To Ohio Ballot
Hear interviews with backers of both proposals above. A Republican state lawmaker says he hopes to reach a bipartisan deal on a proposal to change how Ohio draws Congressional district lines. But a backer of a separate voter initiative on the issue says his campaign isn’t yet convinced. State Sen. Matt Huffman and a coalition of groups, including the NAACP and League of Women Voters, are pushing competing proposals to reform redistricting. Both could end up on the ballot this year in separate elections.

New Tobacco Cessation Lab Aims to Blend Psychology with Medication to Curb Smoking
More than 23 percent of adults in Ohio are smokers, a rate that’s much higher than the national average of 19.6 percent, according to the Ohio Department of Health. A new tobacco cessation research lab out of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine aims to address that high number. The End Nicotine Dependence program will involve both experimental research and new treatments designed to curb tobacco addiction in Northeast Ohio.
Browns' Losing Streak Takes Toll On Merchandise Sellers
The Cleveland Browns' losing streak isn't just taking a toll on fan morale. Businesses that sell team merchandise say they're also feeling the pain. Johnny Mirza, who manages Playball Sports and Fashion in Downtown Cleveland, and sells everything from replica jerseys to Browns-themed baby clothes, said sales of the team's merch are down about 15 percent compared to last season. But he's hopeful that'll change when the team starts winning...eventually.

Cleveland Museum of Art's 'Jazz Age' Exhibit Spotlights Art Deco from Cleveland
The centerpiece of The Cleveland Museum of Art's new exhibition, The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s,was created right here in Cleveland. Muse with Violinhighlights Art Deco style. In 1929, Martin Rose, the founding patriarch of Rose Iron Works in Cleveland, built the room-decorating screen to be a demo piece as a way to recruit business that had dwindled after the crash of the U.S. stock market.
